Dirk Alvermann:
Dirk Alvermann - photographer, cameraman, author

1937 Dirk Alvermann was born in Düsseldorf, West-Germany.
1960 he moved to Berlin (West) and 1966 - also because of love - to Berlin (East) Since 1982 he has lived in the north-west of Mecklenburg (Germany)
1972 - 1976 he worked as director author and cameraman of documentary films at the GDR television.
His books "The end of a fairy tale - 21 made up stories", 1977 Hinstorff publishing company, Rostock) and "Big wheel and candy floss" , 1983 Kinderbuchverlag Berlin) are examples of his work.
Many of his photographs have travelled around the world. They have been published in magazines as Quick, Magnum, NBI, Die Tat, Deutsche Volkszeitung, Das Magazin and others, but his passion were his photographic books, which he designed himself with layouts that are exemplary up till today.
1961 "Keine Experimente - Bilder zum Grundgesetz" ("No experiments - pictures to the Basic Law"), Eulenspiegel Verlag)
1969 "Eine Handvoll Glück" ("A handful happiness"), Hinstorff Verlag)
2006 "Zwischen den Zeiten" ("Between the times") - is - for the time being - a final account of his photographic work.
